Taking it to the Max!

Updated: Jun 27, 2020

By Max Toth My name is Max and, if you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance you know my dad. But you might not know me.

So, here goes.

I’m 14 years old and in my first year of high school. I like to play video games and hang out with my friends. Oh yeah, and I LOVE sports. Football, hockey, baseball and basketball, especially basketball. That love undeniably comes from my parents, both of whom have followed and played sports

since they were kids.

However, not only have my parents sparked my interest in sports, but also sports media.

While some sport-crazy parents might discuss the on-ice performance of a fresh-faced rookie on Hockey Night in Canada, mine critique the reporter who interviewed him at the intermission. That’s just how it goes when you have a dad who spent years on sports shows, and a mom who produced them. And that’s one of the reasons why we‘re doing this. My dad definitely can’t teach me how to put up a shelf or parallel park, but he can show me how to write blogs, make podcasts and have some fun along the way.

By the way, you might be wondering what we are really gonna make here - so I’ll tell you. We are planning on each posting at least one blog a week and a podcast every few weeks. So if you‘re interested, feel free to follow along and see what happens.

And in the words of Terrell Owens (and my dad, when he sometimes co-opts T.O.’s famous phrase); “Get your popcorn ready!”
